Martina Roeselová Foundation
The Martina Roeselová Foundation encourages life scientists to balance competitive scientific work with good quality care for preschool children. To this end, the foundation awards a stipend – the Martina Roeselová Memorial Fellowship – to selected scientists in commemoration of Martina Roeselová, who pursued a short but outstanding scientific career while raising three children and taking an active approach to improving employment conditions for young scientists–parents.
The Martina Roeselová Fellowship is dedicated to PhD students and postdocs conducting competitive research at local universities or research institutes who at the same time are the primary caregiver of a preschool child. The grant provides monthly support to selected applicants for a period of one year to cover childcare services.
The Fellowship was established at IOCB in 2015 after Dr. Martina Roeselová’s death by Prof. Pavel Jungwirth and a number of other friends and colleagues. Since 2017, the Fellowship is administered and further developed by Martina Roeselová Foundation. IOCB continues to support the Martina Roeselová Foundation.
