Open Days Online
What can the ultrasensitive optical biosensor detect, how electromagnetic methods can be used in biomedicine and how data transmission in optical fiber works? Meet our other 3 research teams.

Unfortunately, we can't meet our visitors in our laboratories this year, therefore we try to make them available at least virtually.

ULTRASENSITIVE OPTICAL BIOSENSORS

Welcome to the Optical Biosensors Research Team

The team is engaged in the research of photonic and plasmonic (nano) structures and functional biomolecular files, the development of optical measuring methods and systems, the study of biomolecular interactions and detection of chemical and biological agents in areas such as medical diagnostics, food quality control or environmental monitoring.

MICROWAVE RADIATION AND BIOMOLECULES

Welcome to the Bioelectrodynamics Research Team

We probe and influence biosystems using an electromagnetic field at the biomolecular level. Our goal is to design novel electromagnetic methods for benign and more efficient bio-nanotechnology and medicine to bring us closer to a world where electromagnetic technologies can painlessly prevent, detect and cure diseases. We use advanced electromagnetic concepts, micro/nanotechnology enabled, tools and computer simulations.

FIBER-GUIDED LIGHT

Welcome to the Fiber lasers and non-linear optics Research Team

The research team deals with investigation of high power fiber lasers and their use for material processing, medicine and nonlinear optics. The main topics are laser beam combining, generation and amplification of optical pulses, guiding the light and its interaction with materials. High laser beam power achievable with fiber lasers allows for investigation of nonlinear effects like difference frequency generation. Difference frequency generation in periodically poled KTP crystals can be used to generate mid-infared radiation for the use in laser spectroscopy and metrology.
