In October and November 2019 within the regular survey, the Public Opinion Research Centre (CVVM) questioned respondents about their confidence in some institutions including the Ombudsman, the Constitutional Court, the Supreme Audit Office, the Czech National Bank, the Office for Personal Data Protection, the Czech Academy of Sciences, public universities, the Supreme State Prosecutor, the Security information service (BIS), and the National Office for Information and Cyber Security (NÚKIB).

In November 2019 within the regular survey CVVM SOÚ AV ČR, questioned respondents about their confidence in constitutional institutions. In this month there was a question about their trust to the Chambers of Parliament, the President, the Government, and Local and Regional Councils.

In a survey conducted by Public Opinion Research Centre in November 2019, we investigated how people trust to political Parties and whether they are willing to take part in elections to the Chamber of Deputies. In the press release there are two different types of information: the likely voter model and the party preferences.

The likely voter model indicates anticipated result of hypothetical elections to the Chamber of Deputies in the time of conducting the survey.

The party preferences give us information about public sympathy for political parties in the group of citizens who have voting right and there is also included a part of citizens who will not take part in elections or they do not know who to vote for.

In October 2019 the Public Opinion Research Centre included two questions related to the currently discussed topic of the so-called Instabul Convention. Specifically, we investigated whether the respondents knew what this Convention was concerned and whether, in their opinion, the Czech Parliament should had or had not have approved the Istanbul Convention.

In October 2019 the Public Opinion Researcch Centre investigated whether respondents trust to selected top politicians. They were given a list with 30 names of top politicians. In a survey there were included names of membres of government, president, chairmen of Senate and Chamber of Deputies, chairmen of parliamentary clubs of political parties in the Chamber of Deputies, chairman of Constitutional Court, governor of the Czech National Bank, and ombudsman.

In September, the Public Opinion Research Centre asked a set of questions related to the Velvet Revolution anniversary. The questions investigated public opinion regarding the Velvet Revolution, changes in the political and economic system in general and in different areas of life.

This year, it will be thirty years since the Velvet Revolution. On the occasion of this anniversary, Public Opinion Research Centre and Institute for Sociology of SAC in cooperation with Institute for Public Affairs in Bratislava investigated public opinion regarding the Velvet Revolution, changes in the political and economic system in general and in different areas of life. This press release contains comparison of Czech and Slovak citizens' opinion about several things related to this topic.
