Ondřej Hojda is a historian and theorist of architecture and art, and a graduate from the Faculty of Arts, Charles University in Prague and École des hautes études en sciences sociales in Paris. He focuses on architecture and urbanism in the 20th and 21st centuries against the backdrop of ongoing developments in the society, science, nature and art. His research is currently centred on modernism from the mid-20th century onward in the intercultural context. In addition to Prague and Paris, Hojda has studied in Geneva, Oslo and, for the most extensive period, in Berlin. In 2018, Hojda defended his dissertation on the relations of modern European architecture to Japan entitled Japan and Modern Architecture: Discourse in mid-20th Century Europe. Since 2019, he has been employed with the IAH CAS, working on his postdoctoral project Ósaka 1970: architecture, environment and media. World's Exhibition as a crossroads of Czechoslovak and world architecture. In addition to his academic work, Hojda writes texts for both printed and electronic media such as Art&Antiques, Era21, while also sitting on Era21's editorial board.
