EGU Mentoring programme

Each year during its annual General Assembly, EGU offers a mentoring programme that aims to support first-time conference attendees and help them build connections with other researchers within the Earth, planetary, and space science communities.

Mentees: Anyone participating in vEGU21 who hasn’t previously attended a large geoscience conference is encouraged to register to become a mentee. Mentees will be matched with an experienced conference participant (mentor) to help them network with other attendees, exchange feedback and ideas regarding professional activities and career development, and to make the most of the many opportunities vEGU21 will offer.

Mentors: Any scientist (including early career researchers) who has attended at least two EGU General Assemblies, including EGU2020: Sharing Geoscience Online, is eligible to sign up as a mentor to share their expertise with first timers. Participating in the programme does not need to take up much of your time; you are free to decide how many times you’d like to connect with your assigned mentee(s).

EGU will match mentors and mentees as closely as possible based on your common interests and availability, and also offer some simple ideas and tips for ways to connect prior to vEGU21's start. Special networking opportunities will also be offered during the conference. For more information and to register, please visit here (submission deadline 8 March 2021).

Submit your images to the EGU Imaggeo photo competition

Submit your best geoscience photos via the Imaggeo platform by 15 March for your chance to win a free registration to the EGU General Assembly 2022 and to showoff your photography skills.
