Postdoctoral researcher in physical chemistry

Post-doc position for researchers within 6 years from Ph.D. degree (maternity/paternity leave excluded). The successful candidate will become a part of a research team led by Dr. Jiri Hlinka. The candidate will perform in-silico modelling of electrochemical processes in water-dielectric-semiconductor heterostructures within an international project targeting novel strategies for photoelectrochemical hydrogen evolution.

Key responsibilities

  • Designing representative atomic configurations of the system
  • Testing interatomic potentials
  • Analyzing small subsystems by DFT calculations
  • Performing molecular dynamics simulations
  • Analyzing MD simulated trajectories
  • Preparing presentations and scientific publications

Your profile

  • PhD in physics, chemistry, material science or mineralogy
  • Experience in physical chemistry, or related fields
  • Practical knowledge of molecular dynamics techniques
  • Experience with catalysis, light-induced phenomena or spectroscopy welcomed
  • Basic programming skills (Fortran/C/C++/Python)
  • Advanced English, written and spoken
