PhDr. Martin Krummholz, Ph.D.

Researcher at the Department of Art of the 19th-21st Centuries.

Martin Krummholz studied art history at the Faculty of Arts, Charles University  (Mgr., PhDr. 2005; Ph.D. 2013). Between 1994 and 2003, he worked at the Prague City Archives and since 2005 he has been employed with the IAH CAS. He taught at the Faculty of Arts, University of South Bohemia in České Budějovice (2008–2010) and Faculty of Pedagogy, University of J. E. Purkyně in Ústí nad Labem (2015–2019). He is currently teaching at the Faculty of Humanities, Charles University in Prague (from 2011 on) and Faculty of Arts, Palacký University in Olomouc (from 2019 on). His research interests include early-modern-era architecture, landscape parks and sculpture at the turn of the 20th century. He prepared exhibitions Stanislav Sucharda (1866–1916) – Museum of East Bohemia in Hradec Králové (2007), Clam-Gallasův palác. Johann Bernhard Fischer von Erlach. Architektura, výzdoba, život rezidence – Prague City Archives (2007), Stanislav Sucharda (1866–1916). Tvůrčí proces – National Gallery Prague (2019/2020) and co-curated Metamorfózy politiky. Pražské pomníky 19. století – National Gallery Prague / Prague City Archives (2013/2014). He is the principal investigator for the project Stopy tvorby. Dědictví velkých sochařů první poloviny 20. století. Restaurování a péče o sochařské památky ze sádry (NAKI, 2016–2019) and he has prepared the exhibition  Stanislav Sucharda (1866–1916). Tvůrčí proces as well as Sucharda's monograph. Krummholz is also a co-investigator for the project Krásný Dvůr in the context of European landscape gardens(GAČR, 2018–2020).
