PhDr. Beket Bukovinská

Researcher at the Department of Early Modern Art.

Beket Bukovinská specializes in applied arts at the court of Rudolf II. She has been employed with the IAH since 1970 – from 1990 on as a secretary for organizational matters and between 1994 and 2012 as deputy director and information secretary. In the 1970s, Bukovinská collaborated on the second volume of Dějiny českého výtvarného umění. She took part in preparing the exhibition Prag um 1600. Kunst und Kultur am Hofe Rudolfs II. in Essen and Vienna (1988) and co-authored the book Kunst am Hofe Rudolfs II. (1988, also published in Czech and French). She co-curated the international exhibition Rudolf II and Prague: The Court and the City (1997) and prepared Applied Art and Kunstkammer, for which she also authored the texts in the catalogue. In connection with this exhibition, she was the investigator for the project Rudolf II, Prague and the World between 1997 and 1998. In 2000, she co-founded the Studia Rudolphina research centre including the centre's bulletin. She led the centre until 2019. As part of Studia Rudolphina, she organizes international projects focused on the imperial court of Rudolf II and other sovereigns' courts in Central Europe (München/Prag um 1600 and  Dresden/Prag um 1600).
