Applications are invited for the 2012 Summer School in Plasma Processes, to be held at the Boston University during August  5-11, 2012. The summer school will offer an intensive one-week course in the most challenging plasma processes in space physics.

The school is appropriate to graduate and advanced undergraduate students interested in solar and space physics, and who may wish to pursue a career in space physics, solar physics or related fields. New postdoctoral researchers are also welcome to apply.

Active scientists working will give lectures in the major topics in plasma in space physics. Topics to be covered include reconnection, turbulence, kinetic instabilities and shocks. Please check the schedule link for an updated schedule.

On the last day, there will be a round table of women scientists working in space physics.

The summer school is supported in part by The National Science Foundation (NSF).  Approximately 30 students will be selected to attend. Members of minority and other under-represented groups are strongly encourages to apply. Each student will receive a stipend to cover travel and local expenses.
