RNDr. Hana Vaisocherová, Ph.D., a fellow researcher from the department of optical sensors, was granted one of prestigious scholarships from the L'Oréal company for "Women in Science" in 2011. Her project is called "Trap Shuts in a Few Minutes".

RNDr. Hana Vaisocherová Ph.D. from the Institute of Photonics and Electronics, Academy of Sciences CR, v. v. i. was one of the three scientists who was granted a scholarship for her project, which aims to develop an optical sensor based on plasma resonance which would allow early and rapid detection of hazardous substances in food. She says: ""The key point of this competition project is to develop a method of anchoring receptors on the surface of biochips which would significantly increase the sensitivity and accuracy of the detection of harmful substances.

The prise-giving ceremonial took place at Strahov Monastery on 19 May 2011.
