 For the Department of Material Analysis  (Rotan Laboratory) we are looking for a 

Scientist with the specialisation in Solid States Physics

Job description:

  • Operating a tomograph with high resolution
  • Operating diffractometers
  • Designing experiments and analysing data acquired
  • Processing the outcomes and conclusions including writing texts for publication
  • Other tasks based on the current research focus at the FZU
  • Necessary administrative work

We require:

  • University education in the area of solid-state physics / material research (Master or Ph.D.)
  • Ability to interpret results with the knowledge of physical principles
  • Ability to compare results with theory
  • Ability to publish data and prepare them for publication
  • Willingness to collaborate in a wide field of themes (based on the current research focus at the FZU)
  • Advanced knowledge of English
  • Advanced computer skills
  • Ability to learn fast to work with new SW and devices
  • Ability to find your own solutions
  • Autonomy and ability to work in a team
  • Ability to programme your own routines for data processing (e.g. Matlab, Python, C ++) is an advantage
  • Czech language on communicative level welcome
