Early transition metal complexes as luminescent materials and photocatalysts
Complexes of early transition metals (mainly heavier group 4 elements, Zr and Hf), which exhibit luminescence from LMCT excited states, will be designed, synthesized and investigated in cooperation with colleagues focusing on photophysics. Main aim will be to find possibilities to fine-tune the photophysical properties by modification of the ligand systems and optionally also to demonstrate ability of these compounds to act as efficient photocatalysts.
