Library of the Czech Academy of Sciences (LCAS) is a public research institution whose purpose is to conduct scientific research in the area of scientific information and library science, to establish a research-oriented information infrastructure, and to provide library-based, informational, and reprographic services to the institutes of Czech Academy of Sciences and other users active in research and science. New items: May 2021

New items overview for the May – it’s possible to view the whole list at once or have it sorted out by fields of knowledge.
A selection of ten interesting new arrivals is available for browsing in the study (without having to order them in advance) and it simultaneously possible to browse these publications in digitalised form on the computer reserved for work with the Digital library of Czech Academy of Sciences. You can leaf through them there and possibly print out parts of them.
Complete content of the Digital Library of the CAS for researchers, pedagogical staff and students of high schools and universities is available until 30 June 2021. Beginning on Monday, May 24, 2021, the study room will be reopened with certain restrictions

Beginning on Monday, May 24, 2021, the study room will be open to the public. The number of seats is limited to 73 in the study room and 7 in the computer study in order to keep social distance. Individual study rooms can be used during opening hours.

Services

Documents intended only for study in the library will be available again

From Tuesday, April 27, it will be possible to order books and documents available only for study in the library. Documents will be available to you for a maximum of 30 minutes. Documents need to be ordered in advance.
Other services remain unchanged at this time.

Library services since April 12, 2021

There are no changes in provision of the library services at this time: it is possible to make loans of pre-ordered documents, make a new membership or extend/change a type of current membership.
Full access to the Digital Library of the CAS remains available.
Reprographic and bookbinding centre will be reopen.
