Two Grants From GACR For CERGE-EI Researchers

Jan Hanousek and Christian Ochsner have been granted funding for their research projects from The Czech Science Foundation (GACR). Jan Hanousek will study the structure of the business group and its interference with key corporate decisions. Christian Ochsner wants to build a team at CERGE-EI that will focus on quantitative history and regional and political economy.

CERGE-EI Media Highlights for November

The re-opening of the schools, the results of the US presidential election, or the ongoing debate on tax changes were topics commented on by our experts for Czech media during November. Researchers from the CERGE-EI and the IDEA think tank had their say at various public conferences focused for example on the covid-19 epidemic, the future of the Czech industry, or education.

Filip Matějka Has Received the Consolidator Grant from the European Research Council

Filip Matějka, a researcher and member of the CERGE-EI faculty, has received the prestigious Consolidator Grant from the European Research Council. The project "Attention" continues to explore the imperfections of human decision-making and its impact on society. The Czech economist succeeded in competing with more than two and a half thousand applications from 23 countries.

CERGE-EI Students Among the Awarded at The Young Economist of the Year Competition

Two CERGE-EI students have succeeded at the annual Young Economist of the Year competition organized by The Czech Economic Society (CES).

The Spirit of Giving Back at CERGE-EI

A few days ago we were excited to announce the names of the first two students to receive the Alumni Excellence Fellowships. As of today, we are launching the second call for alumni donations to the CERGE-EI Student Support Fund in the hope that we will be able to grant fellowships to more excellent students next year.
