Equal Treatment and non-discrimination
IPP strictly adheres to the Labour Code Act 262/2006 Coll., Chapter IV, §16. Therefore:

IPP does not and shall not discriminate on the basis of race, colour, religion, creed, gender, gender expression, age, national origin, ancestry, disability, marital status, sexual orientation, in any of its activities. We are committed to providing an inclusive and welcoming environment for all members of our staff.

IPP is an equal opportunity employer. We do not and will not discriminate in employment, recruitment, advertisements for employment, compensation, termination, upgrading, promotions, and other conditions of employment against any employee or job applicant on the bases of race, colour, gender, national origin, age, religion, creed, disability, veteran's status, sexual orientation, gender identity or gender expression.

Gender Equality Policy
While not a result of any discrimination, in many areas (including Research, and
Physics & Technology in particular), there exists a large gender imbalance. We are constantly striving to improve the balance in our Institute by adjusting the working conditions from a gender perspective:

  • IPP management is trying to create best possible conditions for the combination of work and maternity responsibilities
  • IPP offers the possibility of a part-time work for all employees
  • working hours are as flexible as possible to allow work-life balance, especially for female researchers
  • kindergartens are available in our campus

The gender structure of departments/teams is taken into an account during the recruitment process with the aim to achieve best balanced composition of the research teams. However, this represent a challenging task as the percentage of female students is very low already in the Physics and Engineering programmes at universities.

To address the gender issue in a more comprehensive way, IPP is currently preparing a Gender Equality Plan.

We fully support the Gender Equality Strategy 2020-2025 presented by the European Commission, and we are committed to play our role in achieving the Strategy’s vision of „a Europe where women and men, girls and boys, in all their diversity, are equal – where they are free to pursue their chosen path in life, where they have equal opportunities to thrive, and where they can equally participate in and lead our European society.”
