The proposal aims to active participation of the Institute of Physics in the Research & Development phase of the future Southern Wide-field-of-view Observatory (SWGO). The main subjects are the optimization of the unit of the surface detectors and of their layout, evaluation of possible extension of SWGO using Cherenkov telescopes and involvement into the site selection.
