Uzbekistan Successes

In a July 2021 listing of the most influential economists in Uzbekistan (per IDEAS/RePEc), three were either current or past participants of the CERGE-EI Foundation Teaching Fellows Program.

 

The only woman on the list, Nargiza Alimukhamedova, is CERGE-EI's PhD alumna.

Teachers' Salaries in 2020 and Beyond: Will the Czech Republic Rest on Its Laurels?

The level of teachers' pay is a factor in attracting interest in teaching as a profession. Raising interest is necessary not only in order to recruit sufficient numbers of teachers, but to allow selectivity into the profession, allowing for more emphasis on the quality of teaching, a new study by Daniel Münich and Vladimír Smolka from the think-tank IDEA at CERGE-EI suggests.

Mom or preschool? How an extension to paid parental leave affects children’s future education and employment

In their most recent study, Alena Bičáková, Klára Kalíšková and Lucie Zapletalová quantify the impacts of the duration of paid parental leave on the education and future labor market outcomes of affected children when they reach 21-22 years of age.
