Library of the Czech Academy of Sciences (LCAS) is a public research institution whose purpose is to conduct scientific research in the area of scientific information and library science, to establish a research-oriented information infrastructure, and to provide library-based, informational, and reprographic services to the institutes of Czech Academy of Sciences and other users active in research and science. Notice: Exceptional closure of the library on 27. 9. 2021 and 29. 9. 2021 from 1 p.m.
The library will be closed on Monday 27. 9. 2021 for the whole day and on Wednesday 29. 9. 2021 from 1 p.m. for operational reasons. On the public holiday, on Tuesday 28. 9. 2021, the library will be closed for the whole day. On other days, the library will be operating in the standard regime (Thu–Fri, 9 a.m.–7 p.m.).

What June news can you find in our collection? As every month, we bring you a full list of new printed books along with 10 selected ones, which we want to drag your attention to.
The chosen ones are displayed in the study, you can borrow or reserved them right away. They are also available in the Computer Study via the Digital Library of the LCAS. Read more »
Summer library closure
The library will be closed from August 2, 2021 to August 31, 2021.
The loan services will be unavailable. The main study, computer study, research room and cloak room will be closed.
New items: May 2021
New items overview for the May – it’s possible to view the whole list at once or have it sorted out by fields of knowledge.
A selection of ten interesting new arrivals is available for browsing in the study (without having to order them in advance) and it simultaneously possible to browse these publications in digitalised form on the computer reserved for work with the Digital library of Czech Academy of Sciences. You can leaf through them there and possibly print out parts of them.
Complete content of the Digital Library of the CAS for researchers, pedagogical staff and students of high schools and universities is available until 30 June 2021. Beginning on Monday, May 24, 2021, the study room will be reopened with certain restrictions
Beginning on Monday, May 24, 2021, the study room will be open to the public. The number of seats is limited to 73 in the study room and 7 in the computer study in order to keep social distance. Individual study rooms can be used during opening hours.

These selected ones are now available to peep into at the study, next to the selfcheck, where you can look over them and borrowed them at once. Documents intended only for study in the library will be available again
From Tuesday, April 27, it will be possible to order books and documents available only for study in the library. Documents will be available to you for a maximum of 30 minutes. Documents need to be ordered in advance.
Other services remain unchanged at this time.
