Cooperation with industry

Within the scope of other activities, ITAM has prepared (as an expert institute registered with the Czech Ministry of Justice) one expert opinion for the Czech Ministry of Culture. Its expert activities have included work on 31 contracts ordered by industrial partners, among which contractual research is the most important: development of new dynamic calculations for EXCON, testing of new material for monument protection for NANO PLM+, X-ray image analysis with WIDEPIX and research on the aerodynamic stability of conveyor belts with TU Wien, tests and diagnostic measurements for the study of the behaviour of historical structures (e.g. a dynamic test of the new Troja Bridge, an aeroelastic assessment of the new power plant building for HESS, tests of new products by Automotive Lighting in the climate tunnel, diagnostics of the Marian Column in Letohrad, diagnostics of wooden structures in the Wallachian Open Air Museum in Rožnov pod Radhoštěm and historical buildings in Prague, Telč and Hradec Králové, a study of the dynamic characteristics of structures and cyclic measurement on transmission masts). While working on research projects, the Institute obtained a patent in 2014 concerning the invention of a device for field tests of strength and deformability of integrated timber elements.
