Invitation for April, 22: Optical Fiber Technology Industry Session during SPIE Optics + Optoelectronics symposium 2021

The SPIE Optics + Optoelectronics symposium, the largest event in optics and photonics field in the Czech Republic, is held only online for the first time this year due to the epidemiological situation, on April 19 - 23. In addition to our institute, other institutes of the Czech Academy of Sciences and members of the Czech Optical Cluster, such as the Institute of Physics of the CAS, Palacký University in Olomouc and Czech Technical University in Prague, also participate in the organization of this digital forum.

Even if you only connect remotely this year, it still has one advantage. You can also watch lectures and workshops from the recording and you are not bound by the exact time of the event.

Connect April 22: Optical Fiber Technology Industry Session

Optical Fiber Technology Industry Sessions focus on advanced fabrication methods of optical fibers and optical fiber components, and contains a series of tutorial and invited lectures:

Optical Fiber Technology - part I (12:00 - 14:00 CEST):

• Fabrication technology for specialty silica optical fiber using MCVD process, Senior Scientist, Central Glass and Ceramic Research Institute (CSIR–CGCRI), India
• Prospects for development of nanostructured free-form optical fibers, Ryszard Buczynski, Institute of Microelectronics and Photonics, and Univ. of Warsaw, Poland

Optical Fiber Technology - part II (15:00 - 17:00 CEST):

• Current trends in optical fibers, Deputy Head of the Institute of Photonics and Electronics, Czech Academy of Sciences, Czech Republic

Lectures are in English. Workshop is free, but participation in the entire symposium is available only with registration fee. The entire program of the SPIE Optics + Optoelectronices 2021 digital forum can be found here.

The workshop is organized by the Fiber Lasers and Non-linear Optics research team of IPE.
