Most of the current studies show that changes in physical cues result in changes in cell behaviour and functionality. However, they do not provide a mechanistic explanation. Thus, understanding of how these factors influence the processes that drive cell behaviour and functionality represent both fundamental and practical interest.
Our laboratory studies how physical factors influence the processes that drive cell behaviour and functionality. Research directions of the laboratory are the following (but not limited to): Biological effects of non-thermal plasma; Laser irradiation and cellular responses; Nanoparticle-cell and nanomaterial-cell interactions; Advanced physical methods in hepatotoxicity studies.
