Physiological Research - Open Access Journal

Physiological Research (online ISSN 1802-9973) is a peer-reviewed open access journal published bimonthly online by Institute of Physiology (The Czech Academy of Sciences).


For Authors

Physiological Research will modify citations and references in articles published since January 2022.
Authors submitting their articles since July 2021 should follow the new form of References.

References should be cited in the text by consecutive numbers in numerical order as they appear in text, and include all references cited in the main text. More in Instruction for Authors.

Reviews and Original articles for Supplements planned for publishing in 2021 will follow the present format (In citations, use the first author's last name followed by et al., References are in alphabetical order).


Publication Fee

Our journal is turning from a Page Charges to te Article Processing Charges (APCs) for papers which will be published in 2021.

Physiological Research APCs will be 1000 / 800 / 400 EUR (including tax) per an article.

    Physiological Research is a peer reviewed Open Access journal that publishes articles on normal and pathological physiology, biochemistry, biophysics, and pharmacology.

    Authors can submit original, previously unpublished research articles, review articles, rapid or short communications.

    Instructions for Authors - Respect the instructions carefully when submitting your manuscript. Submitted manuscripts or revised manuscripts that do not follow these Instructions will not be included into the peer-review process.

    The articles are available in full versions as pdf files beginning with volume 40, 1991.
