Petr Zemčík has been an Associate Professor at CERGE, Charles University since February 2012, prior to that an Assistant Professor (2003-2012). He has also been a Researcher at the Economics Institute of the Czech Academy of Sciences since September 2013. Petr served as Deputy Director for Research at CERGE-EI (2007- 2009), where served also as an editor for the CERGE-EI Working Paper Series. In 1992, he received his M.Sc. in Econometrics and Operations Research from Prague School of Economics, (with honors) and received Academic Scholarships in 1990, 1991, and 1992. In 1996, he received his M.A. in Economics from University of Pittsburgh, and a Ph.D. in Economics in 1997. He was a Member of Midwest Economics Association (July 2001 - August 2001), an Assistant Professor at the Department of Economics, Southern Illinois University, Carbondale (1998 – 2003), and a Teaching Fellow, Department of Economics, University of Pittsburgh (1992 – 1998), a Visiting Professor at the Department of Economics, Concordia University, Montreal and CMC Graduate School of Business. He has been publishing in several peer reviewed academic journals including the Journal of Housing Economics, the Journal of Real Estate Economics and Finance, the Journal of Multivariate Analysis, the International Review of Economics and Finance and the Southern Economic Journal. In 2006, he received a Marie-Curie Global Reintegration Fellowship from the European Commission and was awarded the Wichterle Award for Outstanding Young Researchers of the Czech Academy of Sciences.
