ELI - EXTREME LIGHT INFRASTRUCTURE - phase 2

Abstract

The main goals of the ELI project in the Czech Republic include the construction of a state-of-the-art laser system using the latest available technologies and the implementation of a program of a number of basic and applied research projects. The backbone of the ELI laboratory will be a large laser system providing ultrashort light pulses of several femtoseconds (10-15 fs). Secondary sources of ultrashort and ultraintensive pulses of radiation and particles will enable a wide range of basic research projects and applications in chemistry, molecular biology, the development of new medical technologies, the development of new materials and more.

This project is co-financed by EU.
