ISSS-14 postponed to 2022

The 14th International School/Symposium for Space Simulations

After much thought and consideration,we have made the decision to postpone the 14th International School/Symposium for Space Simulations (ISSS-14) to 2022, due to the worldwide pandemic of COVID-19 and accompanying social disruption.

The new dates for the ISSS-14 are still in discussion, but it will be held as an in-person meeting around September or the summer in Kobe, Japan.  We will look at the schedule for other general meetings for 2022 and fix the dates at the earliest time.

We appreciate your patience and understanding during this time. Please stay safe.

Sincerely,

Hideyuki Usui (The LOC chair, Kobe University) e-mail: h-usui@port.kobe-u.ac.jp

Overview

The program of ISSS is designed for the teaching of space plasma simulation techniques and sharing of state-of-the-art simulation advances and results with researchers in plasma physics.

In ISSS-14, the school and symposium are integrated so that tutorial/hands-on sessions on various types of plasma simulation models including: particle-in-cell (PIC),  Vlasov, hybrid, guiding center-gyrokinetic, multi-fluid and magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) codes, will be presented along with review and invited talks on cutting edge topics in space plasma physics research. In the symposium,  the most recent observational results, theoretical advances and numerical simulations will be presented to address the outstanding problems in space physics.

ISSS-14 is open to all members of the scientific community, with participation by graduate students, postdoctoral researchers and young scientists particularly encouraged.
