Nomination for Arthur W. Wellington Award

The paper by the author team of Andrija Buljac, Hrvoje Kozmar, Stanislav Pospíšil, Sergey Kuznetsov and Michael Macháček (the latter from the Institute Theoretical and Applied Mechanics of the CAS) was nominated for the prestigious Arthur W. Wellington Award, which is given annually by the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE). The prize is awarded for the best paper in the field of transportation engineering. The article entitled "Effects of Wind-Barrier Layout and Wind Turbulence on Aerodynamic Stability of Cable-Supported Bridges" prepared within the framework of the GACR project deals with bridge oscillations and the risk of combined dynamic and aeroelastic instability of bridges caused by traffic and wind.
