Library of the Czech Academy of Sciences (LCAS) is a public research institution whose purpose is to conduct scientific research in the area of scientific information and library science, to establish a research-oriented information infrastructure, and to provide library-based, informational, and reprographic services to the institutes of Czech Academy of Sciences and other users active in research and science. We are expanding our digital range! You now have a collection of 38,000 electronic books to choose from and read in all branches of science from the publishing house Cambridge University Press. Their complete collection of e-books will be available for the next 12 months. Read more »
New items: November 2021
New items overview for the November – it’s possible to view the whole list at once or have it sorted out by fields of knowledge.
A selection of ten interesting new arrivals is available for browsing in the study (without having to order them in advance) and it simultaneously possible to browse these publications in digitalised form on the computer reserved for work with the Digital library of Czech Academy of Sciences. You can leaf through them there and possibly print out parts of them.

The chosen ones are displayed in the study, you can borrow or reserved them right away. They are also available in the Digital Library of CAS via reserved computers in the library area. Read more »
Notice: Exceptional closure of the library on 1 November 2021 and 5 November 2021 to 1 p.m.
The library will be closed on Monday 1 November 2021 for the whole day and on Friday 5 November 2021 to 1 p.m. for operational reasons.
During the closure the loaned documents can be returned into book returns box located to the right under the stairs beyond the entry door to the LCAS (accessible to 8 p.m.) or into book returns box located next to the entry to the pharmacy at the address Vodičkova 792/40, Prague 1 (accessible uninterruptedly). The library will be closed on Monday 27. 9. 2021 for the whole day and on Wednesday 29. 9. 2021 from 1 p.m. for operational reasons. On the public holiday, on Tuesday 28. 9. 2021, the library will be closed for the whole day. On other days, the library will be operating in the standard regime (Thu–Fri, 9 a.m.–7 p.m.).
