Focusing on research into village architecture and specifically its development in the 19th and 20th centuries, the project aims to present the undeniably valuable and today often endangered examples of village architecture as national heritage. This period is characterized by intense social and economic changes. The focus is not only on individual buildings but also on the evolution of the urban fabric in selected villages. Employees of the IAH CAS collaborate on the project with experts from the department of geomatics at the Faculty of Civil Engineering at CTU in Prague.
The results of the research have been presented in the form of three exhibitions dedicated to the village architecture in all regions of the Czech Republic. Accompanied with scholarly catalogues, these exhibitions were held at the Baťa Institute in Zlín, at the Jiří Mahen Library in Brno, at Koridor Gallery in Ústí nad Labem and in the Czech National Library. The research outcomes are also accessible on the website of the project.
