Kovařík Podeonius acuticornis žije v různých oblastech Evropy, ale všude je vzácný. Rovněž nálezy v České republice jsou ojedinělé. Přiblížena je ekologie tohoto brouka z lužních lesů jižní Moravy, kde má úzce vymezené (stenoekní) požadavky na stromy jilmu vazu (Ulmus laevis) určitého stáří a typu.

The click beetle Podeonius acuticornis inhabits various parts of Europe but it is rare everywhere. Findings in the Czech Republic are also sporadic. The article describes the bionomics of the elaterid species in floodplain forests in South Moravia. As a species with a very narrow ecological niche it prefers European White Elm or Spreading Elm (Ulmus laevis) individuals of a specific age and type there.
