Research Programme 

The Department of Optical and Biophysical Systems recently established new research groups with the focus on Optical Biosensor Technologies, Biophysics or Functional Biointernfaces. We offer international and friendly environment in our teams. 

We are open for motivated people that want to learn novel laboratory techniques. The Research group Optical Biosensor Technologies & Materials at Division of Optics with a team leader Jakub Dostalek, Ph.D. is searching for a new colleagues. Our lab is working on exciting new developments and will offer a solid education to interns of all levels, so please apply regardless of your year and experience level.

  • The candidate will work on an optical biosensor platform relying on plasmonically amplified sensor response that is powered by novel antifouling polymer biointerface
  • Research on metallic nanostructures with tailored plasmonic properties for surface plasmon-enhanced fluorescence and surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy
  • Close collaboration with polymer chemists in the partner organization involved (National Central University on Taiwan)
  • Implementing of new analytical tools and their experimental validation for continuous monitoring of low molecular weight analytes

Required profile

  • Masters or PhD in an area related to physics
  • Experience in optical sensor techniques
  • Willing to carry out multidisciplinary project with partners from different scientific disciplines
  • Analytical thinking
  • Very good communication skills in English

Terms of employment

The initial period of employment is 1 year (with the possibility of an extension), starting from April 1st, 2022 or as otherwise agreed.
