Matěj Kruntorád studied art history at the Faculty of Arts, Masaryk University in Brno (Ph.D. 2019). Since 2012, he has been working for the Department of Research, Surveys and Documentation at the National Heritage Institute in Brno where he conducts historic-building surveys, rescue surveys and documentation, and research into both immobile and mobile heritage in state castles and chateaus. Since 2018 he has also been employed at the Department of Topography, IAH CAS where he works on entries for the fourth volume of Umělecké památky Moravy a Slezska (R/Ž).
