European Congress of Conservation Biology 2022

The Society for Conservation Biology is probably the most renowned society in the field of conservation. This year's conference will take place on 22-26 August at the ČZU. Conference papers can be submitted until 15 February 2022.

The Congress ESEB 2022

Start date Aug 14, 2022 - Aug 19, 2022

The Congress of the European Society for Evolutionary Biology - ESEB 2022 will take place at the Prague Congress Centre from 14 to 19 August 2022. ESEB congresses are held every two years and are currently among the largest conferences in the field of evolutionary biology. The deadline for submission of papers is 15 April 2022. "Early bird" registration is possible until 15 June 2022. Further information will be updated on an ongoing basis.

A new perspective on how early protein-RNA interactions evolved

Protein-RNA complexes are ubiquitous in modern life and are essential to many stages of the cell cycle and metabolism. New research presents experimental support to provide a new perspective on how early protein-RNA interactions evolved. The paper was recently published in prestigeous journal Molecular Biology and Evolution by the team led by Klára Hlouchová of Department of Cell Biology and IOCB Prague.

Polarography celebrates 100 years

Polarography, for many years considered the queen of analytical methods, celebrates its 100th anniversary on 10 February 2022. The discoverer of this scientific method, which made Czechoslovakia famous in professional circles all over the world, Nobel Prize winner Prof. Jaroslav Heyrovský, also worked at our faculty, where he founded the Department of Physical Chemistry.
