Call for applications: Director of IOCB Prague
The Board of the Institute of Organic Chemistry and Biochemistry of the Czech Academy of Sciences / IOCB Prague is seeking applications from exceptional candidates for the position of Director of the Institute.
The staff at IOCB Prague comprises over 900 employees across 48 research groups and core facilities. IOCB Prague has an annual budget of approximately 65 million USD and is a state-of-the-art research institution located in a newly renovated campus.
The long-term goal of IOCB Prague is excellence and the highest scientific standards of basic research in chemical biology and biochemistry, medicinal chemistry, organic chemistry, and computational/physical chemistry with a strong connection to applications, primarily via its daughter company IOCB Tech.

The expected start date is June 1, 2022 for a term of five years (with possible re-election for another five-year term).
Requirements
Applicants must have a PhD or equivalent doctoral degree in the area of chemistry, biology, or medicine, senior level scientific experience, and proven management skills.
Applicants must fulfil the conditions stipulated in §17, paragraphs 4–6 of Act No. 341/2005 on Public Research Institutions (Zákon o veřejných výzkumných institucích), Coll., which, in short, precludes applicants engaged in business activities directly related to research at the institute or those with a criminal record.
Interviews
On-site interviews (preferred option) or videoconferences with preselected candidates will take place on March 11 and April 7, 2022 from 10am CET at IOCB Prague.
Applicants will be expected to present their concrete vision concerning the direction and development of IOCB Prague.
