Starting Research Career Infrastructure Services in Heritage Science

Institute of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics of the Czech Academy of Sciences operates specialised research infrastructure for heritage science and provides services for interdisciplinary research in the field. The STARCAIS programme offers infrastructure support to young researchers – Ph.D. students or post-docs - at the beginning of their career.

CONSErvation of 20th centrury concrete Cultural Heritage in urban changing environments

CONSECH20 is a research project that aims at developing effective approaches for conservation and protection of 20th cent. heritage concrete buildings against the ever-changing urban impacts, taking into account both technical and social aspects.

Stránky jsou věnovány historické výrobě vápna a souvisejícím vápenným technologiím, tradičnímu řemeslnému zpracování a uplatnění vápna ve stavebnictví. Hlavním zájmem je jejich komplexní poznání, materiálový výzkum a rekonstrukce historických dobových postupů. Společnou snahou je z rozličných pohledů upozornit na unikátní historické technologie, které byly v minulosti úspěšně používány, ale dnes jsou již z velké části zapomenuty. Stránky jsou budovány jako otevřené se snahou o postupné doplňování informací vážících se k danému tématu od širokého kolektivu odborníků z oborů výzkumu stavebních hmot, stavební historie, archeologie apod.

Ve druhé polovině 90. let 20. století se začalo věnovat více pozornosti ochraně nemovitých památek a jejich integraci do života současné společnosti. Složitost problematiky kulturního dědictví vyžadovala mezioborový přístup. Systematicky se s ním začalo v roce 1995, kdy bylo založeno nové oddělení ÚTAM - Přidružené výzkumné centrum historických staveb a míst (ARCHISS - Associated Research Centre for Historic Structures and Sites) - spojením výzkumných pracovníků ze dvou ústavů Akademie věd. Tento vývoj dále pokračoval díky úspěchu v různých grantových soutěžích a nyní jsou do výzkumu zapojeni také vědci z dalších ústavů a vysokých škol a fungují dvě výzkumné jednotky - jedna v Praze a jedna v dalším městě světového dědictví - Telči.
