The winners of the Lab Day Competition at the electron microscope
The winners of the Lab Day Competition came to spend their winnings - at their request we took them (not only) to the electron and ion microscopy laboratory.

Researchers Jiří Čtyroký and Vlastimil Matějec received from the ÚFE director the appointment decrees of the emeritus scientist status of the Czech Academy of Sciences for a lifetime of successful work and merits for the development of the workplace and the scientific field.

After a two-year break, the Science Fair, the largest popular-education event for the public in the Czech Republic, took place at the PVA EXPO exhibition center in Letňany, Prague, on June 2-4. The ÚFE stand brought visitors an insight into the optical biosensors research and nano-optics.

Kristýna Holanová and Jiří Slabý were guests of a live broadcasted journalistic TV show Sama doma of the Czech Television. They introduced research of our Institute and invited to the Science Fair in June.
A pair of pupils from Na Šutce Primary School spent a day with a scientist at IPE
Tereza and David, pupils from the Na Šutce primary school in Prague 8, competed in the Competition for a day with a scientist during the autumn Open Days of IPE and won. They came to the optical fiber technology laboratory to pick up their winnings.

At the Academic Assembly on April 20, the extraordinary result of the Institute of Photonics and Electronics from the Optical biosensors research team of prof. Jiří Homola was presented.
