Education

ITAM cooperates long term with universities. Scientists employed by the Institute give lectures for bachelor’s and master’s students at the Faculty of Civil Engineering, Faculty of Transportation and Faculty of Architecture at CTU Prague and, furthermore, at the Faculty of Civil Engineering at VŠB - Technical University of Ostrava, Faculty of Arts and Architecture at the Technical University in Liberec, Faculty of Civil Engineering at Brno University of Technology, Faculty of Arts at the Masaryk University in Brno and Mendel University in Brno.
There were 20 postgraduate students at ITAM, of which 2 were from abroad; the CET laboratories were used by another 5 foreign postgraduate students. In cooperation with universities, ITAM conducted a number of projects and grants in 2014. Its cooperation with foreign universities on education is also very important. The Institute is an associate partner in a consortium that ensures instruction within the international master’s programme SAHC (Structural Analysis of Historic Constructions) in cooperation with CTU Prague, Minho University in Guimarães (Portugal), Padua University (Italy) and Polytechnic University of Catalonia (Spain), where it warrants three of the six main subjects: history of civil engineering, inspection and diagnostics and conservation of historical materials. Furthermore, its employees participate in postgraduate education at the European University Centre for Cultural Heritage in Ravello. Other important activities have included participation in summer programmes at the Corvinus University in Köszeg (Hungary) and especially the Danube University in Krems in 2014.
