The main goal of Industrial Laser Applications group is a demonstration of the potential of new generation laser systems developed at HiLASE in industry. This leads to tailored laser system development according to the needs of a particular application. End-user requirements are reflected in targeting of novel and innovative processes for laser micromachining (LMM), laser shock processing (LSP) and laser induced damage threshold (LIDT) testing and their development and optimization. For mentioned scope we are developing experimental stations connected to HiLASE center laser systems, where are utilized state-of-the-art methods in fields of diagnostics, robotics, laser beam shaping and manipulation techniques. Our applications span overproducing of large area functionalized surfaces, cutting, drilling, marking and many others, bringing quality and effectiveness above current industrial standards. We utilize knowledge and experience gathered during threshold testing of materials and thin films with different laser beam conditions in the number of following applications. Our core area is laser material enhancement using the method of residual pressure stress implementation, which leads to surface hardness increase, higher resistance against corrosive cracks and an overall higher lifetime of treated parts.
