Interact Toolbox

Downloadable MATLAB Toolbox for time series analysis.

Features

The downloadable INTERACT toolbox contains MATLAB functions to perform the following tasks:

  • Setup and integrate model systems for conducting theoretical experiments.
  • Extract phase from a time series.
  • Construct surrogates of various types.
  • Estimate the conditional mutual information functional to detect directionality.
  • Compute assorted phase dependence indices (mean phase coherence, conditional probability, ...).

Documentation

Each script file contains the documentation for the function it provides.  The documentation informs the user what parameters should be passed into the function and what operations the function will perform.  This should be strictly separated from the concept of time series analysis the function embodies.

Reading the documentation will not enable the user of the toolkit to make informed choices in their particular analysis task.  The choice of methods and their application is strongly dependent on the problem domain and character of the time series.
