Since the year 2013, when our team was awarded by the EU Structural Fund for ambitious project LABONIT, Department of Semiconductors becomes an internationally recognized research centre for nitride based scintillators and advanced HEMT structures. Besides, we conduct also research, both experimental and theoretical, into the transport properties of carbon-based structures, materials for solar cells and biostructures. The Department consists of four closely collaborating laboratories and a group of theory. The whole team counts 11 scientific workers, 5 students and 4 technicians.
