Absorption and desorption of hydrogen in metallic materials

Text

On of the important fields of the research is the study of the influence of hydrogen on the structure and properties of metallic materials. We focus on the study of magnesium alloys that are promising as solid-state hydrogen storage materials and hydrogen embrittlement of selected construction materials (titanium alloys, steel maraging, 3D printed alloys). The materials are saturated by hydrogen both by gas (for the apparatus see the picture below) and by electrolytic techniques. The comparison of both methods enables us to search for optimum parameters for absorption and desorption of hydrogen in metallic materials.
