Congratulations to Stanislav Valtera on winning a DAAD scholarship!
Stanislav Valtera – PhD student from the Department of Nanocatalysis has received a prestigious research grant from The German Academic Exchange Service – DAAD (German: Deutscher Akademischer Austauschdienst).
This scholarship offers a unique opportunity to expand the research experience of Standa while spending 5 months in 2022 in Rostock performing complementary studies at two institutions, namely the Leibniz Institute for Catalysis (LIKAT) and the University of Rostock, coordinated by Dr. Ingo Barke in close collaboration with Drs. Stephan Bartling and Kevin Oldenburg.
During his stay, Standa will engage in research on subnanometer and nanometer clusters using state-of-the-art facilities of the host institutions for the characterization of clusters by scanning probe techniques, electron microscopy or photoelectron spectroscopy, including in situ. Standa’s work in Rostock will help at establishing new collaborations between the involved Institutes in Rostock and Standa’s home department of Nanocatalysis at the Heyrovsky Institute.
