Call for Papers for an open-theme issue – deadline 31 January 2023

The journal Střed | Centre calls for papers for an open-theme issue. We welcome research articles of between 6,000 and 10,000 words that cover the full breadth of the journal’s scope: the historical study of society, culture, politics and economics in Central Europe from the 19th century to the present. Completed manuscripts of research articles for the issue can be sent until 31 January 2023 to the editorial office at stred@mua.cas.cz. Detailed instructions for authors are available on the journal’s website. Previous issues of the journal can be consulted in the Digital Library of the CAS.

Střed | Centre is a peer-reviewed journal thematically focused on the study of society, culture, politics and economics in Central Europe from the 19th century to the present. The journal’s disciplinary focus is on the historical sciences and historically oriented humanities and social science research with an emphasis on interdisciplinary dialogue. Střed | Centre aims to bring together the vast but highly fragmented field of research devoted to the Central European area. With this aim in mind, in addition to Czech-language articles, the journal also publishes texts in English and German. Střed | Centre is published twice a year and combines thematic and open-theme issues, the preparation of which is announced in advance through calls for papers. Střed | Centre is indexed in the international databases of scientific periodicals: SCOPUS, EBSCO, ERIH Plus and CEEOL. The journal is published by the Masaryk Institute and the Archives of the Czech Academy of Sciences.
