Initial Phase
In 2020, we launched a long-term GAP Analysis process, revealing gaps in the 40 C&C principles. Based on discussions with scientists of all levels, administrative and technical staff, a GAP Analysis was performed and an Action Plan for the next four years was prepared. Implementing the HRS4R strategy is one of the ways to demonstrate that the IBP supports its scientists.
The whole process was supervised by the Expert Team (the Director’s decision from 08/2020). This team asked the heads of the departments to nominate at least one person with experience and interest in human resources issues. Representatives of scientists, administrative and technical staff established a working group with members actively, voluntarily, and responsibly participating in the GAP analysis and action plan design processes.
The result of this year-long effort is to be the granting of the HR Excellence in Research award. However, our efforts do not end there. Within two years we will revise the action plan, in another three years we will be visited by independent critics, and only then will it be clear whether we have succeeded or not. The award will either be renewed or withdrawn.
On April 26, 2021, the following documents were sent by the Institute of Biophysics of the CAS, v. v. i. for evaluation to the European Commission: Gap Analysis, OTMR & Action Plan.
Subsequently, an initial evaluation of the above documents took place by the evaluators of the European Commission and on 16 August 2021 we received the result of this evaluation with proposals for minor adjustments and additions to the above documents.
We sent the modified documents according to the requirements of the evaluators of the European Commission for further evaluation by the European Commission on 15 October 2021.
