Vojtěch Witzany is a postdoctoral researcher working in the Relativistic Astrophysics group since October 2018. He finished his PhD in October 2018 in the Research Training Group "Models of Gravity" at the Center of Applied Space Technology and Microgravity (ZARM), Bremen, under the supervision of Claus Lämmerzahl.
Vojtěch's research interests lie in the broad area of relativistic astrophysics and black hole physics. Most of his PhD was spent searching for exact solutions and conservation laws for the purposes of accretion-disk physics. However, recently he has been focusing on the relativistic two-body problem in the context of gravitational-wave physics. Specifically, Vojtěch studies orbital mechanics in the limit when one of the two bodies is much lighter (the extreme mass ratio limit) for the purposes of wave-form modelling for the upcoming ESA flagship mission LISA. Vojtěch is also a full member of the LISA Consortium.
