The post introduces a collection held at the Bundesarchiv of importance for the Sinti and Roma genocide. Racial research conducted by the Rassenhygienische Forschungsstelle from the late 1930s was used by the criminal police authorities to identify and deport individuals labeled as “Gypsies” and to achieve the Sinti and Roma genocide. The post follows the story of a Rhineland Sinti family and maps their persecution trajectories. The post was published in remembrance to Zilli Reichmann, a Sinti survivor and a tireless witness of the racial persecutions who passed away on 21 October 2022.
