Technician in the Histopathology Unit

Czech Centre for Phenogenomics, member of IMPC and Infrafrontier consortiums is seeking motivated and responsible candidates for technician position in histopathology unit.


Job description

  • Performing of gross morphology necropsies
  • Preparation and processing of paraffin and cryo histology samples
  • Preparation of chemicals and staining solutions
  • Basic, special histological and immunohistochemical (both BF and IF) staining of tissues
    and cells
  • Data processing
  • Routine maintenance of laboratory equipment
  • Collaboration in the preparation and implementation of experiments in histopathology field
  • Working in GLP conditions
  • Other work activities as instructed by direct supervisors

Requirements

  • Relevant education in life-sciences or in medical/laboratory related field (at least high school leaving diploma)
  • Medical eligibility for work with laboratory animals and animal samples (rodents)
  • Interest in learning and understanding of new lab methods and techniques
  • Capable to communicate with English speaking colleagues

An experience with work in the histopathology laboratory, with rodent handling, study/work experience abroad and a valid certificate for working with laboratory animals are an asset. However, the position is also suitable for graduates.

The workplace is the CCP building in BIOCEV campus in Vestec. The initial contract is for 12 month with expected extension upon demonstrated proficiency. The starting date is negotiable.
