IOCB Fellowships

IOCB Prague is opening up to 10 postdoctoral positions in chemistry and biochemistry per year funded by the IOCB Fellowship program. The fellowship is granted for one year with a possible extension by one more year if both parties agree. Submission deadlines are twice a year on 1 April and 1 October.

The Institute provides a competitive gross salary of 60.000 CZK/month and the obligatory employer parts of the health and social insurance. The salary is subject to income tax. Full health insurance coverage is a part of the fellowship. Travel expenses up to 50.000 CZK/year for attending conferences and workshops are also covered. Based on availability, temporary accommodation in the institute’s or Czech Academy of Sciences’ guest houses may be offered at affordable rent.

The committee considers applications by strong candidates, who did their undergraduate and graduate studies at reputable institutions, based on competitive research documented in several original publications in respected journals.

Potential applicants must contact a prospective advisor at IOCB and agree with them on a potential research project before an application can be submitted. Based on this agreement, the project should be consulted with the supervisor, but it is expected to be prepared solely by the applicant. The applicant subsequently submits the complete application package as a single PDF file to the perspective group leader, except for two letters of recommendation, which must be sent separately and confidentially directly to the address fellowshipinvalid-email-name@invalid-email-domainuochb.cas.cz by each of the providers of the support letter. The group leader transmits the package to the address fellowshipinvalid-email-name@invalid-email-domainuochb.cas.cz.

Grantees of the IOCB fellowship are asked to submit within one month after the end of the fellowship a final report to the committee (fellowshipinvalid-email-name@invalid-email-domainuochb.cas.cz) consisting of copies of their published papers during the fellowship or if papers haven't been published during the period of the fellowship, an approximately one-page long report of the results.
