Transcriptomics and synthetic biology facility
Transcriptomics
- Assistance with experimental design
- Isolation of RNA and its quality control
- Delivery of RNA-seq analysis
- Bioinformatical analysis of RNA-seq (estimation of transcript abundance, quality control of the analysis, basic statistical evaluation)
- Assistance with result interpretation (validation of results by RT-qPCR, design of follow-up functional experiments)
Synthetic biology
- Assistance with design of experiment and suitable plasmid construct.
- Preparation of plasmid constructs (utilizing mostly GoldenBraid-compatible cloning)
- Maintenance of plasmids carrying various elements and their database
Options for plasmid constructs:
- UP/DOWN regulation of target gene
- CRISPR-Cas9-driven targeted mutagenesis
- Preparation of recombinant proteins
- Expression of fusion proteins (wide spectrum of fluorescent and other tags)
- Natural promoter-driven expression of target proteins
- Transient expression
- Chemically-inducible expression
- Virus-induced gene silencing (ALSV and TRV system with wide spectrum of potential host plants)
All methods and approaches are possible to try, learn and practice with us (especially for students).
We closely cooperate with Imaging facility of IEB AS CR.
