For the Czech Centre for Phenogenomics (CCP) hosted by the Institute of Molecular Genetics of the Czech Academy of Sciences, we announce an open position of Head of Biochemistry and Haematology Unit of CCP


Job description

  • Organisation and supervision of the biochemistry and hematology unit including management of lab technicians
  • Design and running of experiments including sample collection, measurement of standard and advanced biochemical parameters from blood and other body fluids using biochemical & haematology analyser, HPLC, ELISA, Multiplex
  • Data analysis and interpretation
  • Oversee functionality and optimization of current procedures and development and establishment of new techniques, secondary tests and challenges
  • Preparation and maintenance of standard operating procedures (SOP), quality monitoring of results and compliance with the rules of good laboratory practice (SLP/GLP)
  • Involvement in writing grant applications and in publications incl. presenting at seminars and conferences

Requirements

  • Education in biological, veterinary, medical or related field at least at high school leaving diploma level required
  • Interest in learning and understanding of new methods and techniques
  • Medical eligibility for work with laboratory animals and animal samples (rodents)
  • Working knowledge of English language and office / database software
