Official name of the Institute

The official name of the Institute is defined on the basis of the foundation deed and used on all official documents, especially in the address, headed paper, envelopes, and business cards. Ústav fyziky plazmatu AV ČR, v. v. i. (note the space between the words ‘AV’ and ‘ČR’, the comma after the word ‘ČR’, and the spaces within the ‘v. v. i.’ abbreviation) Institute of Plasma Physics of the Czech Academy of Sciences (note the initial capital letters in the name of the Institute, the preposition and the definite article ‘of the’, the name of the founder written in full, and the missing ‘v. v. i.’ abbreviation).
 
Affiliation in publications
The form of the affiliation of the Institute on the publications is defined on the basis of the collective letter from the Academic Council of the Czech Academy of Sciences No. 12/2017 and the instructions of the Director No. 1/2017.
For writing the affiliation in the publication in Czech:
Ústav fyziky plazmatu AV ČR, v. v. i. (v. v. i. - with spaces between the letters)
For writing the affiliation in the publication in English:
Institute of Plasma Physics of the Czech Academy of Sciences
 
Abbreviation of the Institute name
In the logotype, only the abbreviation of the English name of the Institute, IPP, is used. In the English and foreign language written texts, the abbreviation of the English name of the institute, IPP, is used. In the Czech written texts, the abbreviation of the English name of the Institute, IPP, or the abbreviation of the Czech name of the institute, ÚFP, is allowed.

Writing of the address on the official documents in the Czech and English versions is set as follows:

(in both language versions the following order is kept: street name with number, zip code - space - city, and the address is completed with the country name in English).
